I still haven’t quite gotten the hand of Tumblr. I’m also not on here that much either to get the hang of it. *shrug* Oh well!!

Now for the reason I’m posting…

People often tell me I need to take a break, or I work too hard. I laugh because I feel as though I don’t work enough. If I could go 24 hours straight 5 days a week without rest, I would. Lets face it though, that’s not going to happen. I used to go 4 days a week without sleep. (ask me about it). After you do that, you kind of feel as though you can accomplish anything. (Side note the only things used to keep me up were energy drinks, multivitamins, refusal to be sleepy, and prayer. No illegal drugs. I wouldn’t suggest anyone do that though. This is not an endorsement of not sleeping but me sharing my life. So go to bed now!!) Though that sleep regimen was murder and has ultimately given me insomnia I know that if I push my limits I can achieve the seemingly impossible. Before that, I didn’t really push myself. I didn’t know how. I didn’t know the benefits of pushing myself. Now I do. That time taught me so much. It taught me how to just go for it and don’t stop. That time taught me not to take no for an answer. When people tell me to take a break I laugh. I laugh because they don’t have my responsibilities. I laugh because they don’t have my drive. I laugh because they don’t understand. I enjoy every day of life. I have to or otherwise there’s no way I could work so hard. There’s no way I could relentlessly pursue my goals if I didn’t enjoy what I do daily. When the clock stops for LaToya Rene I want the people to say “She did it. She lived, she loved, and that crazy girl didn’t stop. And she did it all with a smile.” I might be crazy, but I’m not stopping until the game is over.

Anytime I hear elderly people speak of regrets its them wishing they could have done more. You never hear of them saying, they wish they could have done less. They talk about feeling sorry for not living the life of their dreams. I encourage anyone to live the life they dream of. Take a stand for you. Don’t just exist, Live!!! When great is an option, good is not enough.

This is my first real post on here that’s not me promoting something. This will be rare, so savor it. Haha. I’m a performing songwriter/producer and my job is to make music. Period. Nothing else. If you enjoy your job you know what its like to get up every morning and happily go to work. Despite all the politics (which come with every job even your dream job) it doesn’t matter because you get up everyday doing what you enjoy and every night you get to go to sleep feeling satisfied. Getting to that part that you love isn’t always worth the journey, or at least it doesn’t feel like it during the journey. But when I’m behind an instrument or a microphone there is no better feeling than that moment. There are some performances that feel better than others but every time I hit the stage its magic. The same for producing. It always feels good to make music, but there are times that are just indescribable. I don’t use drugs but if I did I bet it feels like this!!

I just wanted to share that with you. Welcome to my world :)
